Debate is on in about 20 mins and this will go well for Walz and very badly for Vance. The reason that I can be so confident even though Vance is not an imbecile like Trump is that in spite of his Yale credentials, or any credentials for that matter, he will crumble because he has no personality at all and more importantly he will be lying, and Walz will not be lying.

With Trump, normal standards are never applied, Trump had to ‘eat the dog’ to get anyone’s attention. Vance though is bound to be uncomfortable lying because any normal person should be uncomfortable lying. This is why I think this debate is going to be more explosive than people are expecting.

I am expecting Walz to be very well prepared to come at Vance like an attack dog and question his obvious inauthentic position.

OK 15mins in and I’ve had enough. Vance is slick and unctuous and has a well rehearsed schtick of not answering the question and simply present himself as a normal person. In short Vance is smoothly lying and Walz is nervously not able to counteract it. We are still in the same place we were at the beginning of the race, no one has cracked the puzzle of the lies.

No point watching the rest, it’s another missed opportunity for the Harris team, the correct way to play this and this went for Biden too, is to completely and totally ignore the question and use all the time to explain what is really going on.

For example Walz, instead of nervously trying to remember his lines should have pointed out in real time the obvious tricks that Vance was doing in order to not answer the question and then pivot to explain why they need for tricks and distractions. It needs to be a meta attack, an attack that explains the magic trick and also unfolds how it works. My fear is they are running out of time because this race is not only abut the presidency, without the Senate, a Harris win will almost be a Pyrrhic victory.

The Harris team knows this Vance/Walz is a one off debate and I will argue that it was obvious that Harris would also only get one chance, and it is for this reason that both of them Harris and Walz should have taken the chance to ignore every question and explain to the biggest audience the utter insanity that Trump is even running again.

I can see that Harris had to be a little more cautious but Walz’ team will have known for certain that Vance would come out spinning and lying, and what those lies would be. Walz needed to counteract those lies before Vance uttered them.

There was so much that Walz could have absolutely hammered Vance on that was his job. Remember he said that he’d have her back? That was the most impressive thing he said at the DNC. Yet he did not defend her after Vance kept attacking Harris personally all the while being a sitting duck himself. This is an egregious error and the Democrats are in serious danger of not getting a workable mandate.

This is what Harris/Walz need to be talking about now. They have to ask for a mandate from the American people but first Harris needs to unfold how we have arrived at this current mass madness of being OK with someone so dangerous as well as patently unfit to be sworn in again on an oath he has already violated.

Harris and Walz both need to explain at every chance they get, how we even got to these extreme abortion positions how they took their eye off the ball as Trump did exactly what he said he was going to do, appoint Judges who would overturn Roe. This like most of the Project 2025 agenda is in fact all about ‘control’, which appears to be what the GOP has morphed into now a love of theocratic autocracy. That Trump has dragged 40 percent of the US voting public with him is astounding to me.
